Cotter Middle School Meet
General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a Middle School tournament in Minnesota. View manager contact information  Welcome to the registration site of the 2021 Cotter Middle School Speech Tournament (Thursday March 4, 2021)
Cotter (Winona, MN) is excited to host a middle school speech meet for students in grades 5th - 9th grade. Junior and Senior Speech Team members are invited to serve as judges. The meet will take place Thursday, March 4, 2021! Our tournament will feature 12 MSHSL categories (No Discussion), and there is no limit to total team entries or categories. The meet will be asynchronous for categories. All students and Judges will require a Speechwire account for participation. More info to follow for video recording/submission.
Tournament Format:
There will be three preliminary rounds of competition.
Storytellers, Extemp Speakers, and Extemp Readers should come with their first round speech selected and prepared.
Discussion: MSHSL Sub-Section Topics will be used.
Entry Fees:
$3.00 per entry (Duos count as one entry). Checks can be made payable to "Cotter Schools", with "Middle School Speech Meet" in the memo line.
***Special Note: You will be responsible for the full fee if you drop (as a team) past the deadline.
Registration Deadline:
Friday, February 26, 2021 at 6:00pm.
No-charge drops will be accepted up to Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:00pm. After that, all entries are frozen and thus drops will be assessed a fee of $3.00.
To help better plan the rooms, please have all preliminary entries in Speechwire by Friday, February 19, 2020 at 6pm.
Judging Requirements:
Teams are required to bring one judge for every six entries. Judging must be done with a live.speechwire.com account.
Awards:
There will be team sweepstakes awarded to the winner and runner up as well as individual awards in each category.
