Another season is upon us and this year DeForest is proud to announce our regular season tournament. Our tournament date is Saturday, January 30, 2021. We anticipate a very good turnout again this year.
REGISTRATION: Schools may register at http://www.speechwire.com
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration will close at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22. You may add and drop entries until midnight on Thursday, January 28.
DAY of TOURNAMENT DROPS and CHECK-IN: All schools are required to text their drops or confirm their attendance by 7:30 am on Saturday morning. We need to know of your drops or if everyone is present!!! Don’t feel comfortable texting? Have a student do it! A text should have: school name, Drop category, entry’s code and student’s first name. A sample text might be like this:

RULES:WHSFA rules will be used for all categories with allowances made for WFCA variations. Duo Interpretation and OIL will also be offered.
SCHEDULE: 7:45 Registration 8:30 Radio/Extemp drawings begin in the NSDA V-Campus 8:35 Student and Judges meeting in NSDA V-Campus 9:00 Round I 10:30 Round II 11:45 Round III 1:15 Power Rounds begin 2:45 Awards
DOUBLE-ENTRIES Double entries are allowed.
AWARDS: The top three in each category and the remaining power round contestants will receive medals. Team trophies will go to the top five schools. First and Second place small team trophies will go to the schools with 6-14 original entries that earns the best average per entry.
FOOD:
FEES: A fee of $9.00 for each individual entry and $12.00 for Play Acting, Group Interpretation and Duo Interp based on your registration as of Thursday, January 28. The fees have not been lowered this year because the cost of the NSDA Virtual Campus and postage for medals will more than off set the savings from giving medals and not trophies. DEADLINE: Registration will close at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22. You may add and drop entries until midnight on Thursday, January 28.

JUDGES: Each school must provide one judge for every five entries or portion of five entries. Each group, duo or play is considered one entry. Bring your own judges. If you are having problems filling a judging assignment, DeForest may be able to hire one for you at $100 per judge. If you wish to have a judge hired for you please e-mail me at taugust@deforestschoools.org by Friday, January 22. Schools are still responsible for their number of judges as of midnight on Thursday, January 28.
JV TEAMS: We will accept JV entries. (Entries over 25 count as JV.)
