Dear Coach and Team,     

The Platte County High School Speech and Debate Team would like to invite you to the Platte County Pirate Invitational Novice tournament. The tournament will be held virtually between January 25-30, 2021. Park Hill is hosting Varsity in the Crabtree Classic. Contact Tyler Unsell at usellt@parkhill.k12.mo.us for information about that tournament.

Platte County will host the following Novice IE Events asynchronously on January 25-28, 2021: US Extemp, International Extemp, Original Oratory, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Poetry Reading, Prose Reading, Duo Interpretation, Informative speaking, and Student Congress (December docket). Storytelling and Radio Speaking will also be offered using MSHSAA rules.  

In an effort to provide maximum opportunities for competition, we also ask that each school provide ONE judge per every ten entries.  

We will be hosting Policy Debate, Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Public Forum Debate synchronously through NSDA Campus/Tabroom on January 29-30, 2021.

The deadline for receiving entries on Speechwire.com will be Wednesday January 20, 2021, at 3:00PM.  Asynchronous speech links (unlisted Youtube videos or Google links) will be due by 3:00PM on Friday, January 22, 2021.  All entries will be waitlisted upon entry – we will grant what we can accommodate during the day on January 21/22.  Entry fees will be $6.00/entry.  No trophies will be given, but certificates will be sent for students placing.
