We're online this year because everything is. Aside from that, our hope is to keep everything else the same. Schedule will feature three prelims and finals in all events. Here are the highlighted items from the registration info page:
Events:
* All 13 MSHSL events.
* Extemp will be split Domestic & International - students cannot compete in both due to schedue constraints.
* Impromptu (AFA format - see Files section for full instructions).
* POI (NSDA format).
* DUO will be asynch so make sure your YouTube/Google Drive links are set to share.
* Judges should provide speakers a 30 second grace period in all events.
* This is not an MSHSL or NSDA tournament so judges should just rank on quality of arguments and performances.
Double & Triple-entering:
* Students in draw events (DX, ER, IX, ST) and Discussion can be registered in one non-draw event as well but not two due to schedule constraints.
* Students can register in three non-draw events.
* Impromptu is not considered a draw event since it is an in-room draw event with a running clock.
Discussion:
* Discussion tasks will be released at the table.
* Tasks will be drawn from the second section of the outline.
Tournament format:
* Three prelims and then all events will break to finals.
* Events with large entry pools will have Finals for the top 6, Honor Finals for the next 6, then Merit and Consolation Finals for the next 12 or so.
NIETOC Bids:
* All advancing participants in DI, Duo, HI, Info, OO, POI, & PRO likely will earn bids.
* Entries in Prose are eligible to earn DI bids this year per NIETOC board decision for the 2019 season.
