Hello, and welcome to the 2021 RWHS Speech Invitational Meet! For the first time ever, in a bittersweet way, we do not need a Snow Day schedule - since we will be running a Virtual, Hybrid tournament - no road and weather issues this year! 

 

We will be using NSDA Campus thru Speechwire and will run a 'Recorded'/Asynchronous competition for Duo in which partners must be in separate rooms (in keeping with our district's safety approvals), and a 'Live'/Synchronous competition for the other 12 MSHSL categories.

Due to the unique nature of virtual speech and asynchronous duo, we will be allowing Double Entry for DUO Competitors ONLY. This way, for duo competitors who have a solo piece ready, your speakers can still get a live round opportunity in their solo category. For those duo competitors who do not have a solo piece to double enter with, we have enabled video rounds - so on the day of competition, your duo pairs should be able to log into Speechwire and view the videos of their competitors in their rooms/rounds. (Our goal is to make sure that our duo competitors still get a 'Meet Experience' and get to either compete live by double entering or get to still see their competition by watching the videos.) 

 

Based on positive feedback from teams last year, we will once again offer Team Recognition's in Small, Medium and Large School Divisions in addition to awarding individual recognition to the 1st-6th Place Finalists and Honorable Mentions as appropriate. Winning teams will receive a certificate for the Head Coach to display locally. Finalists will receive a ribbon. 

Due to our virtual season, awards will look a bit different this year! We will record and post an awards cermony video for teams to view and celebrate locally. Following the awards video, we will package the ribbons for individuals and a team certificate for the winning teams into envelopes and mail them to each school/coach for local distribution.

Red Wing Speech Invitational

Red Wing High School invites you to the annual RWHS Speech Invitational Tournament.  We will have 3 Preliminary Rounds and a Final (no final in Duo):

7:45a - 8:15a Registration

8:20 a.m.       Draw Competitors Meeting

8:30 a.m. All Draws Begin

8:45 a.m. Judges Meeting

9:00 a.m. Round I begins for all events

10:30 a.m. Round II begins for all events

12:00 p.m. Round III begins for all events

1:30 p.m. Final Rounds begin

3:00 p.m. Awards in auditorium

 

We will be limiting our registration to the first 450 entries on a first-come, first-serve basis. Entry fee is: $7 per entry.

Please note that we will NOT be allowing Double Entries.

Also, please note that while this is an invitational meet and we will not be disqualifying competitors, we will be supplying/honoring the 20-21 MSHSL Speech Rules to help support our students as they prepare for MSHSL level tournaments later in the season.
