Welcome to the 2020 VIRTUAL Capital City Classic!

Friday, December 11th, 2020

We are pleased to announce we will be a NIETOC Bid Tournament again this year!

Bids will be offered in Varsity NIETOC events according to final entry numbers in those events.

FORMAT: This tournament will run virtually on ZOOM through Speechwire for all events except DUO Interp, which will run asynchronously with pre-recorded videos. There will be 3 Prelim rounds and Finals. E-balloting on Speechwire will be used. Details about the format and need-to-know specifics on all of this will be sent to coaches as we near tournament time! If there are questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me!

EVENTS:

Varsity: EXT, OO, ENT, INF, IMP, HI, DI, POE, POI, DUO
Novice: EXT, OO, ENT, INF, IMP, HI, DI, POE
No cross-entries between Novice/Varsity EXCEPT if a Novice student is double-entering in a Varsity-only event (POI/DUO).
- Novices are defined as any student who has not previously competed in Speech prior to August 2020.
Impromptu will be run according to the NSDA ruleset -- if you have questions about this event, please contact me!
Informative will run at the 10-minute max to accommodate the NSDA ruleset
DUO will run asynchronously. Videos should be submitted no later than Wednesday, December 9 @ midnight. Videos may use split screen or students may perform masked in the same room.
Competitors may triple-enter, but rounds will not be held past their start time. Extempers are STRONGLY discouraged from triple-entry due to our shortened rounds for this year.

FEES: Entry fees will be $8.00. All fees will be assessed at entry deadline. Drops after deadline will not reduce your fees or judging requirements.

JUDGES: Please provide one judge for every five (5) entries. Uncovered judges will have a $20 fee per uncovered entry. Please make every effort to cover your judging slots -- we need your judges more than your money! Please make sure to note any "clean" judges who may judge your own students. All judges need to be available for finals. Please ensure all judges are appropriately registered on Speechwire!

ENTRY DEADLINE: Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 at 5:00 pm.

DROPS/ADDS: Changes will be accepted through Thursday, December 10th at 4:00pm. No additional adds will be accepted on day of the tournament.

*Extemp prep will be 30 minutes - digital files will be allowed following NSAA guidelines.
