Dear Friends,

As with most of you, we have had a “some kinda strange” and sometimes frustrating start to 2020-2021.  We appreciate your patience and understanding as we post this VERY late invitation to the GlenOak Virtual Novice Tournament 2020 (sadly, no Forensic Frolic in 2020!) this Saturday, October 31, 2020.

We will post a complete invitation and many files in “Files for Download” in SpeechWire.  Please check “Files for Download” during the week!

Briefly

  • All competitors must have fewer than 25 NSDA credit points on file with NSDA.

  • Both competitors on Duo, Public Forum & Policy Debate teams must have fewer than 25 NSDA credit points - NO “Frankenstein teams!

  • Student judges must have at least 150 NSDA credit points on record.  We prefer juniors and seniors.

  • We are using the November/December Public Forum & Lincoln Douglas Debate resolutions.

  • We are using the OSDA November 7 Congressional Debate docket for Congressional Debate.  It is posted in “Files for Download.”

  • OSDA Canton District Chair, Missy Stertzbach has put together a list of virtual tournament protocols from what we learned at our Canton Virtual Learning Day.  It is posted in “Files for Download.” Please, READ it as our tournament will follow these protocols.

  • Competitors, judges & coaches using iPhones or iPads must download the Jitsi App in order for the device to work correctly in NSDA Campus.

  • Registration will open at 7:45 am.  A “head coach” must report to the virtual Tab Room in NSDA Campus to register.  We would like this done by 8:30 am.

  • Round 1 will start at 9:00 am - please the forensic gods . . .

  • Sadly, we must increase our entry fee to $5.00 for single competitors and $10.00 for team entries.  You know we will work with any program that is suffering financially in this strange year!

  • Registration will remain open until you register on Saturday!

Direct questions or concerns to Nick Bollas, tournament director, at  bollasn@plainlocal.org or call/text 330-313-0635, or Tom Mosberger at mosbergert@plainlocal.org or call/text 330-323-4901.

We hope to “see” you virtually this Saturday, October 31, 2020!  Happy Hallowe’en!
