***IF YOU DID NOT GET INVITED THIS YEAR, AND YOU WOULD LIKE AN INVITE, PLEASE EMAIL ME AT JSLIN@NAPERVILLE203.ORG. I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE! Timing for everything *NEW UPDATE*
-Entries, Names, Adds = Due by Monday, Dec. 7. Judges will be assigned based on numbers from Dec. 7. Reminders:
2020 Tournament structure - Hybrid Finals: *NEW UPDATE* All finals + next-in finals will be done live via Zoom. For Duets, we'll have students try this live. IMP, EXT, RAD will all prep live prior to the final round. Make sure your students know that finals are live. In cases of WiFi issues, missing people, or other reasons why we can't judge live, the students' prelim videos will be available. Finals will be 3 judges, next-in will be 1 judge. If students are double or triple entered and they're missing from a round, their video will be used instead. Some notes:
Other guidelines: -DUETS: Please make sure these are not recorded in the same space. Students may not be in the same room as their partners. We want to encourage health and safety. The videos that are produced can be edited together, but edits should NOT be used to enhance the performance (i.e. special effects, sounds, etc.) -VIDEOS: Videos should be submitted via url. Please make sure that the url is accessible by everyone. We all know that Google drive has some wacky settings, so please make sure your students know how to make their videos accessible for all. ***Note: videos should not be edited in any way except for HDA/DDA. Videos should be filmed on a basic setting (for equity) and the background should not be distracting. Judges will be instructed to disregard technology/background and focus on the performance. -JUDGES: MAKE SURE YOUR JUDGES KNOW TO BE AVAILABLE FOR FINALS + NEXT-IN FINALS. I only have 5 extra judges, and we'll need somewhere in the neighborhood of 55 judges. -JUDGES pt2:I am going to enable the feature to allow coaches to mark their judges' preferences for events. Please know that these are just preferences; a judge will have to judge whatever they're assigned. The system will take the judges' event preferences into account, but it may be a lower priority than other factors. ENTRY FEES: 1-14 entries - $150 15-28 entries - $200 29-42 - $250 43+ - $250 and extra judges. 55+ SEE LIN. Please make checks out and send to: NCHS Speech Team, at Naperville Central // 440 W. Aurora, Naperville, IL 60540 **IF MONEY IS HARD FOR YOU FOR THIS YEAR, PLEASE LET ME KNOW** I don't want money to be the reason why your kids don't compete.
DEADLINE for ADDS: After Dec. 7, any extra adds will need to be emailed to jslin@naperville203. I will not be adding extra entries after Dec. 7. ADDS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED AT THE TOURNAMENT.
JUDGES: One judge per 6 entries. Please round up for judges. (Example: 14 entries = 3 judges) If you have over 42 entires, please ask Lin - you may need to bring a few more judges. If you are unable to find judges, email me immediately. I only have a limited amount.
