You are invited to attend the Millard North Novice Invitational on Friday Nov 6th. Any high school student who has not previously competed in speech/forensics competition at the high school level is eligible.

**CHANGES**
1. We will be using Speechwire and NSDA Campus to host fully remotely. More information to come on the logistic of being remote.
2. I have officially added Entertainment as a separate event
3. Due to adding POI to GOLD this year, I think more novices will be in that event. I am not ready to add it separate as I do not anticipate more than a couple novices having POI ready Nov 6th, but I am going to change the Poetry time limit to 10 minutes and allow for POI and POE this year. I will see how many of those entries are actually POI and reevaluate for next year.
4. I have eliminated DUO and IMP for just this year.
5. I have had to raise entry fees slightly - from $7.00 to $10.00 and entry. This is intended to be a change just for this year. The loss of concession money means the loss of any profit for this tournament. My entry fees usually only cover software and some of the awards at this novice tournament. So I am just trying to make sure I break even, thank you for your understanding.

Events: All students may double enter, no triple entries are allowed. HI, DI, Poetry/POI, Oratory, Informative, Entertainment, Extemp

Format: We will be hosting three preliminary rounds of competition and then awards. There will not be a finals round.

Awards: There will be an award mailed to the schools for each student who finishes in the top 6. It will not be a traditional trophy or medal. Again, this is just a 2020 change.

Judging: We ask that you bring one judge for every six entries. Judges may be qualified varsity members, but please make sure you train them on how to judge every event, how to judge remotely, and stress the importance of lots of positive feedback and constructive criticism since this is the novice’s first tournament ever.  You are welcome to bring extra judges if you have varsity members who would like to judge.

Fees: Entries at $10.00 per entry and judge fees are $12.00 per uncovered entry/slot.

Entry Deadlines: Registration will close at 5:00pm on Wednesday Nov 4th
