The Chagrin Falls Speech & Debate Team cordially invites you to attend our (spooky) tournament on Saturday, October 31.
PLEASE NOTE: This will be virtually run on Speechwire using the NSDA Campus platform for all debates and extemps. We will offer the remaining speech events on an asynchronous platform hosted by Speechwire. Performance links (either Youtube videos or Google Drive files) can be attached to student registration by clicking the "video links" icon on the tournament page. We will be using online e-ballots at this tournament via Speechwire. So, when you enter your judges, you must enter an email for each judge.
KEEP IN MIND:
Middle School competition will NOT be offered at this tournament.
We will NOT have double-entries or allow mavericks in debate.
ENTRIES:
OSDA Speech Events: Straight 4 Rounds
LD, PF Debate: 4 Rounds
2P Policy Debate, Congress: 3 Rounds
**We will be using the November/December topics for LD & PF.
*Here’s the congress legislation for our 10/31 tournament:
1. A Bill to Save the United States Postal Service
2. A Bill to Ban Elected Officials from Owning Stock
3. A Bill to help prevent and mitigate wildfires
4. Public Lands Profit Act
5. A Bill to Abolish the Use of Standardized Test Scores in College Admissions
6. The Competition Act
7. The Sixth Service Academy Act
**Since this a virtual tournament, there will be NO caps!
ENTRY FEES: $5.00 per competitor. $10 per DUO, 2P, and PF team.
DEADLINES:
Deadline to add/drop entries and judges: Thursday, October 29 at 3 pm.
Entry fees lock on Thursday, October 29 at 3 pm. Any drops after that will incur the entry fee associated with that entry.
JUDGE REQUIREMENTS:
IE: One (1) judge for every five (5) IE entries (i.e. a DUO team counts as one entry)
PF/LD: One (1) judge for every 2 debaters/teams.
Congress: One (1) scorer or parliamentarian for each school that has Congress entries.
SCHEDULE:
8:00 AM - Registration/Check-in. Round 1 starts at 9 am.
