General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a High School tournament in Indiana. View manager contact information Hello Coaches, Welcome to our tournament. Debate rounds begin at 8:30 Eastern time. The deadline for registration is Thursday 15 October at 5:00 p.m. Congress -- NOTE: Varsity chamber(s) will set the specific order of the day for each session, morning and afternoon. Novice chamber will debate the bills in the order presented. Morning session: IHSFA September/October bills 1 (ACES act) and 3 (controversial speakers), and NSDA September Legislation Docket bill 6 (trade with Kenya). Afternoon session: IHSFA September/October bills 4 (facial recognition technology) and 5 (Russia/Crimea) and NSDA September Legislation Docket bill 10 (human rights in Thailand) Lincoln-Douglas: The NSDA resolution for Lincoln-Douglas debate will be used for BOTH divisions, varsity and novice. The national novice topic will not be debated. Public Forum: Resolved: The U.S. Federal Government should enact the Medicare-for-all Act of 2019. World Schools Debate: prepared motion (teams will debate both sides): Rounds 1/2: This house regrets the rise of "cancel culture." Rounds 3/4: This House mandates the inclusion of critical race theory in required diversity training for all federal employees. Policy: Resolved: The United States federal government should enact substantial criminal justice reform in the United States in one or more of the following: forensic science, policing, sentencing. Novice Policy areas: Forensic Science: Limit use of facial recognition software. Policing: Abandon federal efforts to force local police to assist in immigration enforcement. Sentencing: Abolish mandatory minimum sentences. Sentencing: Drug decriminalization. Blessings,Michael
