General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a High School tournament in Ohio. View manager contact information
The coaching staff and students of the Wadsworth High School Speech and Debate Team cordially invite you to the annual Wadsworth High School Grizzly Classic. This year the tournament will be held virtually Friday, December 4, 2020 (Policy Debate) and Saturday, December 5, 2020. We will be using a combination of SpeechWire and NSDA Campus. All competition will be LIVE through the previously mentioned platforms.
We will be offering all OSDA/NSDA events: Public Forum, Lincoln Douglas, Student Congress, 2-Person Policy Debate, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Declamation, Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, Program Oral Interpretation, and Extemporaneous Speaking.
Our tournament this year will offer four rounds of competition for individual events. Three rounds of preliminary, semifinal, and final for 2-person policy debate. Four rounds for LD and PF. We will host two rounds of student congress and one final "Super Session". This provides all students and teams with the opportunity for great competition!
Student Congress will be using the Ohio Speech and Debate Association December 2020 docket. Lincoln Douglas, Public Forum, and 2 Person Policy will be using the NSDA November/December 2020 topics.
We will accept registration through Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.
Awards will be held virtually. We will award the top six teams in both “big school” and “small school” sweepstakes and top six competitors in individual events and debate.
We will NOT provide judges for hire. Please do your best to fill your entire judging obligation. If you are unable to provide your full obligation, we may be forced to drop students from competition to ensure a smooth-running tournament.
Our tournament will offer Middle School competition pending available building space and interest from teams attending the tournament. To express interest in Middle School competition, please contact Sam Zulia directly via email at szulia@wadsworthschools.org to confirm.
We are fine tuning the schedule over the next week to accommodate the change from in-person to virtual.
If you need to contact us the day of the event, please use the cell phone numbers provided below. We look forward to seeing each of you this year at the Wadsworth High School Invitational!
