The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is pleased to invite you to our 3^rd Annual Rage on the Bayou, held Friday evening on October 9 & Saturday October 10! This year, we will go virtual and synchronous via Speechwire and Yaatly. Additionally, this is NOT a swing, so you can swing with whomever you choose on Sunday! We’re starting on Friday to painlessly have 3 preliminary rounds. One more novelty! We’ll be offering two additional events in prelims only this year: Any Interp (AI) and Any PA (AP) for folks who’d like to run one of their qualified events from last year in order to shake the rust off and get some fresh feedback.

But, in some ways, things will be pretty normal: all 11 AFA events following the current season’s AFA rules with three prelims and whatever number of elimination rounds are required. We will award the top 5 in each event, as well as the top novice, and recognize the top 3 overall competitors in at least 4 events as well as the top 3 overall schools.

We’re excited to see everyone’s rage in a new way! Laissez les bon temps rage!

Please register by Tuesday, October 6 at 5PM. Additional $15 drop fees will go into effect after 9AM on Thursday, October 8. We want as many of your judges as you can bring for the sake of the most effective feedback (particularly in elimination rounds), but we’re going to experiment with no covered vs uncovered fees: $10 per entry and $20 per Duo.

Entry Limits

We encourage teams to limit students to 3 events per flight, but it’s your call. Rounds are an hour and fifteen minutes without exception, so it’s up to the students to get to their rounds with enough time to complete their performances. We do our best to keep each preliminary round to 5 competitors. To keep the tournament on schedule, we instruct judges to end the round an hour and fifteen minutes after the round was scheduled to begin. Please consider all of these factors when making your decisions.
