We offer middle school, high school novice and high school varsity competition for all Florida schools regardless of whether you are a participating program in the Florida Civics & Debate Initiative. There is no fee to join our league and our entry fees are low.

EVENTS and DIVISIONS: If numbers allow, we will offer separate middle school and novice divisions. We reserve the right to combine divisions. If we combine divisions, we will offer a Best Middle School Award in addition to the usual awards.

LIVE EVENTS INCLUDE:

  • Lincoln Douglas Debate-We will be using the Sept/Oct 2020 topic: Resolved: In a democracy, voting ought to be compulsory.

  • Impromptu Middle School only

ASYNCHRONOUS (PRE-RECORDED) EVENTS INCLUDE:

We will use NSDA rules for these events.

Please note that due to late school starts due to Covid measures, the NWFCDI will allow the use of scripts in all events at this 10 Oct event, but this is NOT the practice for tournaments outside of NE or NW Florida, nor will it be the practice for future tournaments in the NW FCDI Region.

Instructions on how to upload speech/inter videos can be found on the “Files for Download” page. Videos must be uploaded by midnight, Friday, October 9.

JUDGES: Adults, coaches, and qualified varsities with at least 75 NSDA points may judge. Judges need to be trained. They may take the NSDA judge training course if they did not attend any judge training. COACHES: Coaches must be available for the duration of the tournament.
