Carthage 1 Day Novice Debate Tournament

Dear Coach and Squad,
Carthage Speech and Debate would like to invite your novice debate students to compete at the CHS Fall Novice Debate Tournament on October 24th. There will be six rounds of debate to help give your students experience for the rest of the season. Registration will occur on Speechwire.com. Please make sure that you enter in all names and email addresses for your competitors. If you need help with operating Speechwire, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We will offer the following events:
Lincoln-Douglas debate: Resolved: In a democracy, voting ought to be compulsory.
Public Forum debate: Resolved: The United States federal government should enact the Medicare-For-All Act of 2019.
Extras will be given according to room availability and in the order received. Additionally, each school must provide one judge for every four entries in Lincoln-Douglas and public forum. Please request only as many entries as you can provide judges.
Judge Notes:
● Please enter your judge names and email addresses in Speechwire.
● Your student judges will also be the time keeper for the round.
● NO ORAL CRITIQUES ARE TO BE GIVEN! Any judge found giving oral critiques will be asked to leave and entries not covered will be dropped.
The entry deadline is Friday, October 16th, 2020.
