The Raymond Central High School Central Players welcome you to our 34th Annual Mustang Invitational on January 16th, 2021.  We are pleased to announce that we are a bid tournament for the 2021 National Individual Events Tournament of Champions in Houston, TX. We will be running a synchronous tournament using Zoom virtual competition rooms. Because our tournament is virtual this year, we are not tight on space. This means that we will run three preliminary rounds in all events.  We will also offer separate divisions for Duo Interpretation and Duet Acting.  Students may enter both events but must perform a different selection in each. Events will have Champ/Honor/Merit finals based on entry numbers.

NSAA rules will be followed, except regarding the time limit for Informative Speaking, which will have a 10 minute maximum.

 

Duo and Duet will be synchronous, but not live. You will submit split screen videos. For consistency and respect for all school and city mask mandates, student safety and distancing procedures, all schools must do a split screen recording. These may not be edited and can be disqualified for editing. 

 

TRIATHLON COMPETITION:  A student may enter in the triathlon if they are entered in three events in any combination. Please inform your extempers that they need to plan carefully for that situation.    

 

AWARDS:

*Finals - Medals for champs finalists; certificates for additional final round participants. Recognition for NIETOC bid recipients.

*Triathlon - Medals for the top three individuals.

*Sweepstakes - Plaques will be awarded to the top three teams.

 

FEES/JUDGES:

Entry fees are $8 for each individual event.  Group entries count as one entry. You must furnish one judge for every 6 entries or part thereof.  (6 entries = 1 judge, 7 entries = 2 judges)  There will be a $15 charge per uncovered entries.  Remember, if you want to judge, you count as one judge.  All judges must be available for finals.  (Failure to do so will result in a $20 charge to your school.) There will also be a $20 school fee to help pay for shipping expenses regarding awards and for zoom room proctors. 

 

EVENTS:

We will be using NSAA guidelines for the nine Nebraska events. Full descriptions can be found at www.nsaahome.org.  This year we are again offering Program Oral Interp, which, along with Duo Interp, will follow the standard NSDA rules. Informative Speaking will use a 10-minute time limit.
