Thank you for considering the annual Alexandria Cardinal Invite (virtually), Saturday, January 23, 2020

The meet will be a syncronous virtual tournament using NSDA Campus tournament.

We will be hosting all 13 MSHSL events with Impromptu speaking as well. In that category, students will be given a subject, question, or quote and will have 7 minutes to WRITE AND PERFORM their speech!!

1. DISCUSSION may Double entry only in non-draw categories.

2. NO DOUBLE DRAW CATEGORY ENTRIES. (You can only enter in one draw category.) Your Speaking time will not be moved!

There will be three preliminary rounds of competition, with no finals.  We will offer awards to the top 8 speakers in each category. Team sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to the school with most points per entry!

AWARDS: Medals for 1st-8th and Ribbons for Top Novice andTeam Awards

REGISTRATION: $6.00 per Entry and a $25 base team fee to help with the NSDA Campus cost. Make Checks Payable to Alexandria Area High School - Duo Counts as (1) Entry DOUBLE ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED

JUDGES: Please bring (1) Judge per (6) Entries $100.00 charge for uncovered entries.

NOTE: If the rounds are unbalanced you may judge your own students. However, we will do all that we can to avoid this situation.

DRAW CATEGORIES: **All Categories will have 30 minutes to Prep starting at 8:45 am **Storytelling will draw from ALL Stories on the MSHSL list **Extemp Reading will draw from ALL MSHSL Story/Poetry lists **Extemp Speaking Topics will include News Events beginning in January **Discussion Topic: To Be Announced Closer to Tournament Date.

CONCESSIONS: You are welcome to check out your local fridge.
