JUDGES – One judge for every 6 entries or a fraction thereof. A limited number of hired judges are available at a cost of $100. If you do not bring the required judges, you will be assessed for your required number during registration.
PLEASE MAKE ALL CHECKS PAYABLE TO ICC SPEECH TEAM.
ENTRY DEADLINES **Please be sure to include student names in your entry and identify novices!**
**ALL entries must be made by 5:00 P.M. December 7th {Thursday} on SpeechWire. We will confirm all entries by that time. NO ADDS will be accepted after the deadline!!!
DROP DEADLINES Drops and substitutions can be made without charge until NOON on Friday December 8th. We will then close registration on SpeechWire and any drops need to be texted or emailed to Bryan. This includes JUDGES!!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE: Call or text in your drops to Bryan on Saturday morning on your way to the tournament. This will help us out tremendously. Call 309.310.6842 with drops as soon as you know them.
Drop fees at registration will be assessed at the Tournament Director’s discretion!!
The Events Group A Group B Dramatic Duet Acting Declamation Humorous Interp Dramatic Interp Impromptu Extemporaneous* Informative Humorous Duet Acting Oratory Original Comedy Poetry Prose Radio* Special Occasion
Each school is limited to 6 entries for each event. (You may request additional entries if space allows it.) A student may enter three events total; but no more than two different events in any given time slot. The events will follow the IHSA guidelines.
*Students competing in radio will need to arrive at the tournament with a script already prepared; there will be no radio prep material. **Extemp competitors will prep before each prelim and final round!
The top six competitors in each event {based on prelim ranks; speaker points will be used to break ties} will compete in a final round. The top non-finalist novice in each event will receive a special award. A novice will be defined as a student who is in his/her first year of competition. Please mark all appropriate students as novice on Speechwire.
Sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to the six schools {1st, 2nd, 3rd: Large school & Small School} who accumulate the greatest number of sweepstakes points. Large and small school divisions will be based on the mean number of all schools calculated by the initial entry. Sweepstakes points are earned in final rounds only and are based on the following format:
