How Judging Works

WHSFA Open Virtual Speech Festival

How Adjudication/Judging Works

  • Adjudicators/judges will be entered in the virtual festival in one of two ways. Either they will be entered, with their email address, by a coach/parent on behalf of a school participating in the festival, or they will complete the form to the right to volunteer. Those already committed to judge may also complete the form to the right to volunteer for additional sections.

  • A day or two after registration closes on April 27, judges will be emailed instructions and notification that their ballots are available to review in SpeechWire. They will have until May 4 to watch, write comments, and rate each performance. Ideally, judges should earmark a continuous block of time, 90 minutes - 2 hours, to assess the video presentations.
