Greetings!
Simpson College and the University of Northern Iowa look forward to hosting you at the Iowa Swing! UNI will host the Bill Henderson Invitation (On the Simpson College campus) on Saturday, January 18, and Simpson will host the Storm Invitational Sunday, January 19. Both tournaments will be held at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.
The Iowa Swing offers competition in all 11 AFA events on both days and, in addition to IE’s, Public Forum debate will be offered on Saturday while Novice and Open Parli debate will be offered on Sunday (Simpson College will host both of the debate tournaments). Entries for both days must be submitted on Speechwire by Tuesday, January 14, at 5 p.m.
If you are interested in either format of debate, it is helpful to let Spencer know the week prior to the tournament that you are sending teams, even if you do not know your exact entry. Spencer’s email is spencer.waugh@simpson.edu if you have questions about debate. Direct question about the overall tournament or speech events to deano.pape@simpson.edu
We look forward to seeing you in January!
