Welcome to the Westglades Middle School "Howl With The Wolves", Middle School Invitational

 

Westglades Middle School is thrilled again to host this Broward County Middle School Debate Invitational Saturday January 27, 2018. You are humbly invited to this event which will feature 4 rounds of PF,LD,EXT,OO,OI,DEC,DUO,DI,HI,IMP. We will feature 1 round of Social Justice Debate, 4 rounds of Big Question Debate, 3 rounds of Policy, and 2 Preliminary Rounds of Congress with a 3rd Round Super Session Of Congress. We will use the same resolutions, and prompts that will be used at the Northeast January 25, 2018 competition. You should have already received the 4 Congressional Bills(same used at Northeast on the 25th) for the 1st round of congress, You can upload The 4 Congressional bills that will be used for our 2nd round of Congress,and the 3 Bills that will be used for the Congressional Super Session, and You can upload the Bills for Social Justice Debate. Prizes will be Trophies for Team Overall Winner,and Individual Winners, Runners-up will receive a plaque, and Students that place (3rd to 6th) will receive a Medal. What is at the Tournament?

 

1) Hawaiian Theme : (Possible Live D.J.) Working on It!!!

2) Lei's:: Free as you get off the Bus!!!!

3) Italian Ices Truck.:   Yummy!!!(Working on getting an icecream truck!!!)

4) $10 Individual tee-shirts with tournament info/logo on front and all of the middle schools represented on the back of the shirt. Pre-sale order( number of shirts ordered and the sizes for each shirt ordered must be in by January 18th) Email me at andrew.aronofsky@browardschools.com with your pre-orders

5) $15.00 Individual entry fee which also includes Lunch: Subway Box lunch that includes your choice of either a: Turkey, Ham or Veggie Sub, with Chips , Cookies and a Soda.

6) Through out the tournament we plan on selling candy, different snacks, and drinks.

7) Free breakfast for Judges and Coaches Bagels, cream cheese, muffins, pasteries, juice, coffee, water. 

 

Important Deadlines

1) Registration on Speech Wire will close Monday January 22nd, 5 pm  (Westglades Middle School Invitational)

2) Subway lunch Choices TURKEY/HAM/ VEGGIE SUBS. COMES WITH CHIPS-COOKIE-SODA. ...Monday January 22nd. 5 pm.

3) Pre-order (sale) tournament tee-shirts (List sizes with the amount of shirts you want to order) due by the  Thursday January 18th

4) Entry fees will be frozen on Wednesday, January 24th at 5pm.

5) A $10 drop fee will be levied for all drops after 10am on Friday, January 26th.

6) Make all checks payable to Westglades Middle School Debate. You can Pony(pay early), or Pay during Morning Check-in.

1) Team Arrivals:               7:00 am-7:40 am West entrance bus loop

2) Team and Judge Registration: 7:10 am- 7:40am Auditorium, 

4) Judges Meeting               7:40 am media Center.

5) Awards Ceremony              4:30 pm Auditorium

6) Lunch                        11:30 am -1:00 pm Cafeteria

7) Buses Leave                  by or before 5:00 pm.
