The Platteville High School Forensics Team invites you to their first annual invitational on Saturday, March 5th, 2016!

 

REGISTRATION:

We will begin at 7:30AM in the Platteville High School Office. All participating schools are expected to register no later than 8:15AM. Please make sure you have an updated cell phone number in SpeechWire, so tournament personnel can contact you in case a member of your team fails to check-in by 8:15AM.

 

RULES:

WHSFA rules and categories (please see, www.whsfa.org) will be used with allowances made for WFCA rule variations.

WHFSA CATEGORIES will be used.  

 

ENTRIES:

There is no team limit. Students are allowed to enter ONE (1) event. Your top 25 entries will count toward team scores with a maximum of four (4) entries per event.

 

SCHEDULE:

7:30-8:15      Registration

8:30               Radio/Extemp drawings begin in the IMC

8:30               Student meeting in Commons and Judges’ Meeting in Teacher's Lounge

9:00               Round I

10:15             Round II

11:30             Round III

1:30               Power Rounds begin

2:45               Awards in Auditorium

 

 

AWARDS: Trophies will be presented to the top three competitors and medals to the remaining finalists. Your top 25 competitors with a maximum of four (4) in any one category will count for team awards. Team trophies will be awarded to schools in two (2) divisions. Divisions will be determined based on actual entries competing. A minimum of five (5) entries will be needed to compete for team awards.

 

FOOD: Lunch and an assortment of snack items will be available for purchase throughout the day for students from the concession stand. Food will be provided for coaches, judges, and bus drivers in the morning with a lunch provided by the Platteville FCCLA. 

 

FEES: A fee of $9.00 for each individual entry and $12.00 for Play Acting & Group Interpretation based on your registration as of 1:00PM on Friday, March 4th, 2016.

 

DEADLINES:

-Please register via Speechwire.com by 5:00PM Friday, February 19th, 2016

-Teams can and should manage their own drops on Speechwire.com until 1:00 PM, Friday, March 4th, after that point, email drops to fredericks@platteville.k12.wi.us.

-Entries dropped after that time will still be charged.

-Day of tournament drops are strongly discouraged. On the day of the tournament you must please TEXT between 7:00-7:30AM to confirm ALL your entries, EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO DROPS. This will ensure that we get started on time. 

 

JUDGES: Each school must provide one (1) judge for every five (5) entries or portion of five (5) entries. Each group or play is considered one (1) entry.  Please bring your own judges.  If you are having problems filling a judging assignment, Platteville may be able to hire one for you at $100 per judge.
