Prior Lake High School Laker Invitational
General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a High School tournament in Minnesota. View manager contact information Dear Speech Coaches: You and your team are invited to participate in Prior Lake High School Laker Speech Invitational on Saturday, February 6, 2016. We hope you will be able to join us! Registration begins at 7:15 a.m., draws start at 8:30 a.m., and Round I will begin at 9:00 a.m. There will be three rounds with a final this year. We will use all 13 MSHSL categories. We estimate that finals will begin at 2:00 p.m. and awards by 4:00. There will be a concession stand available to students throughout the morning and over the noon hour. Lunch will be provided for coaches and judges in the judges' lounge. If you need to reach us for any reason on the morning of the tournament, please call Tournament Manager Nick Ingles at 952-454-2156. We recommend that you send no more than eight entries per category. The cost is $7.00 per entrant. Checks can be made to Prior Lake High School Speech. Double entries will be allowed, with the exception of Discussion. Duo Interpretation is $7.00 per group. Judges: You will need to bring one judge for every seven (7) entries or fraction thereof. Uncovered judge slots will cost $75 each. Please make every effort to provide the required number of judges based on your entries prior to drops. If one team representative/coach can assist in the tab room, please contact Nick Ingles. Entry Deadline: Please submit your initial entries by Monday, February 1, 2016. If you need to submit drops/adds, please provide your online requests by Friday, February 5th at 3:00pm. Smartphones are the preferred method of submitting last minute drops prior to arrival, however, emergency drops can be made at the registration table on the morning of the tournament. Other MSHSL competition info: Storytelling draws are from the first 10 stories; draws for Extemp. Reading will be from the first 20 selections of prose and the first 30 poems. Discussion Topics (I. Youth/High School) will be used. Busing: Please drop your students off at the PLHS Activities/Students' East entrance or Door 8E.
