Dear Santa Claus,

     My name is Manuel and I am the speech coach at Canton McKinley H.S. I don’t usually write to you asking for things, but…I would like you to come judge our 2007 Holiday Tournament.

Yes, it is time for the McKinley Speech Team's Holiday Speech Tournament. Ho ho ho! This year we are once again injecting a good deal of hard hats and floor tile as McKinley is hopelessly under construction.

The particulars:

Date: December 13, 2014

Place: McKinley H.S. 2323 17^th. NW

           Canton, Ohio 44708.

Events: Drama, Humor, Original, Oratorical, Prose-Poetry, Duo Interp, Congress, Domestic & International Extemp, Expository Speaking

Fees:  $3.50 per entry. $7.00 per duo.

Congress Legislation – FOLLOW OHSSL DOCKET

Awards - Trophies and Ribbons to top 7 Speakers.  Sweepstakes mention to top schools. Sweeps will once again feature each coach picking ten entries prior to round one.

Lunch:  Lunch will be served at McKinley at a reasonable price. Please stay at McKinley or you will forfeit power round assignments.

Judges:

IE

1 -5 Contestants = 1 Judge

6 - 10 = 2 Judges

11 - 15 = 3 Judges

Etc.(in increments of five).

Congress

One judge per 6 congress people.

Please inform your judges that this is a POWER ROUND tournament and that they should be available to judge this round.

Entries: Each school may enter FOUR per event. Space is VERY LIMITED and CERTAIN EVENTS may fill up early. Junior Varsity teams may/may not be accepted. DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS Tuesday, DEC 9 at 3:00 P.M.

Time Schedule: Please note the Time Schedule.   We are starting early so we can get Round 1 going by 9:00 a.m.

7: 45 - 8: 20

Extempers should report to the MEDIA CENTER.

8:30 - 8:40 -General Announcements. Brief as we have much to do!

8:45 - 8:55: Judges' Announcements.

9:00 - 10:30     Round 1

10:30 - 11:45   Round 2

11:45 - 1:00     Round 3

Lunch – Will be held after completion of Round 3 and during Power Rounds.

1:45 - 3:15      Power Rounds

Awards: 4:00 or earlier!
