Jasper High School invites your Speech and Debate Team to our meet on February 21, 2015.
 
All IHSFA Speech events and Congress will be offered. The Congress bills will be numbers three, five, seven, and eight. It is the state docket.
 
Registration: Entries must be submitted via http://www.speechwire.com. All entries must be received by Monday, February 16, 2015, by 3:00 P.M.
 
Entries: Forty total entries allowed per team with a limit of five entries per event.
 
Doubling: Contestants may not double in Discussion or a debate event. Extemp may double in Impromptu or original oratory only. Duo partners may not double in another duo event.
 
Electronic information retrieval devices will be allowed under NSDA rules.
 
Radio: Contestants should prepare in advance a three-minute news program. The host school will provide source materials for commercial, editorial, and on-the-spot rounds.
 
Discussion: The format will be the Socratic Seminar. The artifacts will be released one week prior to the meet and can be found in the "Files to Download" section of Speechwire.
 
 
 
 
 
Tournament Details: 
 
Registration begins at 7:30 A.M. First extemp draw is at 8:30 A.M. Rounds will be at 9:00 A.M., 10:30 A.M., 12:00 P.M., and 1:30 P.M. Awards are scheduled for 3:30 P.M
 
Judges: Each school must bring one trained judge per four entries (or fraction thereof). 
 
A hospitality room for judges will be provided.
 
Awards: Ribbons will be presented to the top seven in each category. There will be no separation of novice and varsity. The top four schools will receive sweepstakes trophies.
 
Food: Teams will congregate in the cafeteria. Concessions will be available, and students are encouraged to purchase from the cafeteria to help support the costs of the meet. 
 
Hotels: There are various hotels in Jasper, including the Holiday Inn Express.
