Hello Fellow Forensicers!!!!!

We are happy to invite you to the tremendously fun Berlin Forensics Tournament on January 16-17. Student Congress will be held on Friday. All other events on Saturday.

RULES

This is a WFCA sanctioned event. WFCA rules will be followed in all categories.

CONGRESS

We will plan to have a House and a Senate depending on registrations. If you have any bills, please email them in with the registration – and all bills will be emailed with your confirmation. The top Presiding Officer, top two speakers and best questioner will be given awards.

AWARDS

Medals will be given to all finalists not receiving a trophy. Individual trophies will be given to the top two finishers. Team trophies will be given in the categories of large schools (20-25), medium schools (14-19) and small schools (5-13).

JUDGES

Each team must provide one judge for each 5 entries or fraction thereof. Each school participating in Congress on Friday must bring one Congress judge. A very limited number of hired judges are available for Saturday at a cost of $75 each. These must be hired before Saturday’s tournament in order to guarantee their judging. All judges should be available until all power rounds are started.

FEES

Friday Student Congress                           $9.00 each (dinner incl.)

Saturday Individual entries                        $9.00 each

Saturday Group entries                              $12.00 each

FOOD:

We are planning on providing a great variety of excellent food for your kids to purchase throughout the day in the commons area. Please support our program and keep our tournament running on time by purchasing food at the tournament. Food and beverages will be available for judges, coaches and bus drivers.

ENTRIES

Friday Congress:

Please register via email no later than 5:00, Friday, January 9th to John Peschl at jcpesch@sunprairieschools.org. Please submit legislation with your registration.

 

Saturday Tournament:

-Students are permitted to double enter. However, students cannot double enter in both Radio and Extemp but can double enter in one of the two categories.

-Please register via Speechwire.com no later than 5:00pm, Friday, January 9th. If you encounter any problems with the online registration, don't hesitate to email fischere@uwosh.edu or jcpesch@sunprairieschools.org. A registration confirmation will be emailed out after registration closes. Coaches can also view up-to-the minute fees on Speechwire.com.

-All students should be marked as varsity, even if you have more than 25 entries.

 

This is the first tournament of the year, so it is usually more laid back than others. We know students are still practicing, so use this as a time when your kids can get some more practice in! Bring as many or as few as you have. We look forward to seeing you all!!!!!
