Cotter HS Speech Meet
General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a High School tournament in Minnesota. View manager contact information  Welcome to the registration site of the 2015 Cotter Speech Tournament (March 28, 2015)
Cotter High School (Winona, MN) is excited to host a speech meet on March 28, 2015! Our tournament will feature all 13 MSHSL categories and there is no limit to total team entries. Check-in on the day of the tournament is at the John Nett Center, 360 Vila St., Winona.
Registration Deadline:
Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 10:00pm
No-charge drops will be accepted up to Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10:00pm. After that, all drops will be assessed a fee of $6.00.
Scheduling:
We will be site scheduling this tournament, so please make all necessary changes to your registration on Speechwire until registration closes on Saturday morning. You may text any of your drops to Amy French (507) 450-2690.
Entry Limits:
There are no entry limits for teams or categories.
Entry Fees:
$6.00 per entry (Duos count as 1 entry)
Checks can be made payable to "Cotter Schools", with "Speech Meet" in the memo line.
Judging Requirements:
Teams are required to bring 1 judge for every 6 entries. Additional judges will be available to hire for $90.00 if teams cannot meet this requirement. Please contact Amy French as soon as possible if you anticipate you will need to hire a judge.
Tournament Format:
There will be three preliminary rounds of competition followed by a Final consisting of students who ranked 1-6 in prelims.

Extemp. Reading (Prose): All Stories
Extemp. Reading (Poetry): All Poems
Storytelling: All Stories
Discussion: MSHL Section 3
Discussion Tasks:
Round 1: Economic Issues - Subsection Topic
Round 2: Cultural and Social Impacts - Section Topic
Round 3: Political/Military Concerns - State Topic
Finals: All are in play
Concessions:
Food will be available for purchase throughout the day for students at the Cotter Concession Stand. There will be breakfast and lunch served in the Judges Lounge for Coaches and Judges.
