Before the Tournament...

EVENTS: All MSHSL events will be offered. NFL Events (HI, DI, OO, Duo, & Extemp) will be run according to NFL rules: all other events will be run according to MSHSL rules. Rule changes allow for a 10 minute time limit.

NIETOC: This year Eagan serves as a NIETOC bid tournament in the following events: humor, duo, drama, oratory. Therefore students hoping to qualify for NIETOC in drama should enter prose pieces in drama.

JV: Mark students as JV if this is their year in speech. Students in their second year but in a new event are varisty.  This division is novice but we are calling it JV at this point in the season. The students will compete with varsity and if they qualify for finals or honors they will advance to the varsity final rounds. After those rounds are determined we will pull out the next 6-7 speakers in JV who will advance to the JV final round. This is the same procedure as Lakeville South used to use.

FORMAT: Three preliminary rounds in all events. Finals and Next-In finals in Varsity. In JV there will be a final round.
