We are pleased to invite you to the first Middle School tournament of the year with the Dallas Urban Debate Alliance!

 

LOCATION/TRAVEL: We will be holding this tournament on Saturday, October 26th, in a location to be determined (we are working hard to get an answer on location by tomorrow). Please reference the Wednesday Memo Derek sent out yesterday for information on applying for free buses through DISD - we have gotten an extension on the application with Student Activities, but we recommend you apply ASAP and leave the location blank. Email the completed (1 page) Travel Request From to Eric Nickerson (ENickers@dallasisd.org), who will send you a Bus Trip Number to put on your field trip forms.

Round 1            9:45 am

Round 2         11:00 am

Lunch         Noon

Round 3     1:00 pm

Round 4            2:00 pm

Awards              3:30  pm

Done                 4:00 pm

 

 

DEADLINES FOR ENTRY:

-The Yes/No "RSVP" deadline is Friday, October 18th. If you do not plan on attending the tournament, please log in to Speechwire and say you aren't attending - it makes planning a tournament a TON easier on us. 

-Student Entries deadline is Monday, October 21st. This is a hard deadline - if you don't enter the number of students you plan on bringing by Monday, we cannot order food for them, request rooms for them, or hire enough judges for them. Please help us ensure this number is accurate by updating your student counts by this point.

 

JUDGING: 

We will also offer sweepstakes points to your school for volunteer judges - judging is often one of our limiting factors, so even 2 or 3 parent or teacher volunteers may allow us to accept more of your students to our events. If you do have recruits, please contact Derek with their names and contact info so he can provide them with judge training information.
