Dear Speech Team Coach:

WELCOME to our tournament registration. We are excited that you can come. If you have any trouble or questions, please email me at jim.schiferl@d214.org or email Amanda Ams at amanda.ams@d214.org.  The tournament will be held at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, IL. on Sat. January 25th.  We are glad you wish to join us for this competitive experience in the middle of winter.  Reminders about our Varsity Tournament:

Trohies will be given to the top six competitors in each event following finals. (medals to additional finalists)

The top 3 teams will be awarded trophies based on the top two performers in the final rounds only in each event.

We will allow up to three (3) entries per event. This year’s entry fee is $150.00. Please plan to bring one judge for every 4 entries; if you have 5 or more events with 3 entries, we need you to bring a fifth judge and send an additonal $25 fee ($175) .

RULES: RADIO & EXTEMP: Students will have TWO (2) 45 minute prep. at 7:45am and 9:15am; students will perform choice in round 3.

POETRY & PROSE: One program only as per IHSA rule.

TIME: No time penalties except for Radio (rank of 6 for DQ); judges may,however, consider time as part of his/her ranking in other events.
