Important Notes

  1. The deadline for registration will be Wed, March 21.  As always, registering past the deadline puts you at risk at not being able to accommodate. Furthermore, we are PARTICULARLY tight on rooms. Please register accurately and early.
  2. Please bring your varsity debaters to judge. One of our limiting agents for this weekend, because of the adjusted schedule, will be judges. It is important to get your third and fourth year debaters to come judge in order for us to not have to turn away students.
  3. Final round for all three divisions will be held at Earth Day Dallas. More details on this will follow. Participating in the semifinal round is conditioned upon you and your students agreeing to be available to participate in the final round at on Saturday, April 21. Discuss this with students/parents in advance. If they are unable to, then they will need to decline their semi-final position and we will advance the next team in the slate.

Part of the Earth Day Dallas Celebration is that the winning team in each division will earn $500 for their debate team (held through DUDA), in addition to the trophies and public recognition at Earth Day Dallas. Finalists, their parents, and coaches, will be given VIP parking and access to all Earth Day Dallas events.

  1. We must start debates on time. Do not show up for registration late or we may remove all of your teams from the first debate and award them an automatic loss to begin the day.
  2. High Schools – I know Thursday night is later than usual, and later than I would ever like to end a tournament.  Hence I will be strict on enforcing start times (see note 4). I hope that the later start on Friday makes this more palatable. Given the room constraints, it was our best option. We will do our best to accelerate the schedule and make Thursday night end as quickly as possible.
