It's that time again....6AA SECTIONS!!

 

The Edina Speech Team is looking forward to hosting the 2012 MSHSL 6AA Section Tournament! 

 

1.    Plan to arrive at Valley View MIddle School between 1:30 and 2:00 P. M.  (Valley View lets out at 2:40 PM.)

2.    Registration will be in the cafeteria.

3.    Draw students may take their tubs to the media center.  All other students should go to the cafeteria

4.    All coaches are asked to provide one person to time and one person to work in the tab room.

5.    Please be sure to have scripts (Info., O.O., Creative, and Great Speeches) to turn in at Registration.

6.    Please prepare draw students to be timed.  Draw events will be timed all three rounds. 

7.    NO DOUBLE ENTRIES ALLOWED.  Teams may enter up to 7 entries per category and up to 39 entries total.

 

The tournament is going to be run on a fairly tight schedule...so please aim to be on time. Valley View releases students at 2:40, so it's imperative that your students are at the school no later than 2:15 PM so as to not interfere with the district busses. We have been asked to please enter the school through via the front doors (next to the Edina Performing Arts Center) and proceed to the VVMS cafeteria. Students may congregate  in the cafeteria until the tournament begins. 

 

Schedule:

1:30-2:00          Registration

2:30                    Draw meeting in the media center

2:55                    Meeting for all non-draw students in Auditorium

3:00                    Storytelling, Extemp. Reading, & Extemp. Speaking Draws

3:15                    Judges meeting in the judges’ lounge

3:30                    Round One

5:30-8:30            Pizza available in cafeteria

9:30 (approx.)    Awards in the Auditorium

 

Please be prepared to bring at least one person to serve as a timer....and be certain that they have a timer. 

 

Teams may bring their own options for meals, or they may place a pizza order. I will be sending out a order form for pizza for you to place an order. Judges will be treated to a warm and inviting hospitality lounge sponsored by the Edina Friends of Forensics. 

 

Awards will be hosted in the Valley View Middle School auditorium as soon as all results have been tabulated.

Coaches PLEASE remember to bring a copy of your 2012-2013 school calendar so that we are able to set the date for next years sections tournament.
