42nd Annual Jefferson Speech Tournament

Format:
-
3 rounds; no finals
-
First round for non-draw starts at 9:00 AM, draw categories speak at 9:30 AM
-
Ext. Speaking, Ext. Reading, and Storytelling: 30 min. prep, students draw all three rounds.

Students may follow NFL rules and time limits for humor, drama, prose, poetry, duo, and original oratory
-
Student may compete in Impromptu Speaking. This is the only category in which you may double enter.

Individual awards to the top 10 in each event
-
Six team awards; top 3 in Sweeps and 3 in Team Excellence

Awards program begins at 2:15; on the road by 2:45!

We will sell pop, food, and candy at lunch.
Outstanding Coach Award!

We will once again honor an outstanding speech coach at this year's tournament.

Please consider nominating one of your fellow coaches for this award

Nominations should be submitted in writing at registration.
-
Include the nominee's years of experience, contributions to the speech community, and any other characteristics which makes your nominee an outstanding coach. A selection committee from the tournament will decide the winner and honor the coach at the awards ceremony.
