Welcome to the 51st Annual Denfeld Rotary Speech Tournament! We are glad your team has decided to attend our tournament. When: Saturday, Feb. 4th, 2012 Where: The newly renovated Denfeld High School. It is worth attending just to view the historic building in its stunning new look! Registration: 7:30-8:45a.m. Round 1 - Begins at 9:00. Draws begin at 8:30. Format: 3 Rounds and Finals (top 7) and Honor Finals (8-14) Team Awards for the top 6 schools. Fees: $6.50 per speaker. Make checks to Denfeld High School Speech. Tournament Director: Jill Lofald - jill.lofald@duluth.k12.mn.us Rules: MSHSL and NFL Double entries - Allowed in all events. Discussion will begin 15 minutes later. Judge ratio: One judge for every 7 speakers . Can hire judges for $75.00. Get your requests in early! Awards: Top 14 plus ribbon winners and Top 6 schools Great concession and Hospitality Room for Coaches and Judges Registration Deadline: Tuesday, Jan 31st - 4:00 p.m.Can continue to make changes online until Friday, Feb. 3rd - 3:00 p.m. Guidelines for some events: Extemp Reading will have stories 1-11 and Poetry 1-25. Storytelling will have stories 1-11 and in Discussion the tasks will come from Point III NEITOC Bid Tournament - New to many of us so we will have an Informational Booth at this tournament! We will be offering a Coaches Session at this tournament for Head and Asst. Coaches! This will be held during Round 3 so if you want to attend you will have to cover your own judging commitments to attend. You will be asked to register for this workshop at the Registration table - there is no fee for this excellent opportunity to learn and ask questions about how to run an effective speech program.
