Dear Speech Coach,

Welcome to the Glenbrook North Tournament of Heroes: "With great power comes great speakers!"

We are proud to host a varsity speech invitational on Saturday, January 28th, 2012. We will run a standard varsity tournament with three preliminary rounds and a final round. All 14 IHSA events will be featured, and we will attempt to adhere to IHSA rules. As we are limited in building capacity, so we will accept schools based on first-come-first basis and allow 2 entries per event. Please email requests for a 3rd entry.

SCHEDULE:

     7:00    Registration

     8:00    Round A

     9:30    Round B  (Prep @ 8:45)

     11:00  Round C  (Prep @ 10:15)

     12:30  Round D

     2:30    Finals  (Prep @ 1:45)

     4:30    Awards

FEE: The base fee for entry is $100.00. If you are given a 3rd entry in any event, your fee is $150. We ask that all entry fees be paid by registration.

RULES: Extemp & Radio will have 45 minute preps for the 1st and 2nd prelims, then choose for the 3rd. There will be a new prep for the final round.

MEALS: Breakfast, snacks, beverages, and lunch will be sold in the student cafeteria. Snacks and lunch will be provided for the judges/coaches in the faculty cafeteria.

AWARDS: Individual awards will be provided for the finalists in each event. Charitable donations will be made in the name of the top five (5) teams in lieu of team trophies. 

JUDGES: Please bring one (1) judge for every six (6) entries, with a maximum of 6 per team.

PIR Note: This year, we will not be hosting a PIR exhibition.
