TOURNAMENT INFORMATION:

Your team is invited to join us at Liberty High School on Saturday, January 21nd, 2012 for our Speech & Debate tournament at Liberty High School and Guy Middle School.

Events:  Each high school may enter six contestants in all IE categories and Student Congress. You may register six Varsity LD Debaters and six Public Forum Teams. Debates will use the January NFL topics.  If you wish to enter more contestants than permitted please let me know and if space permits you will be notified. 

There will be no Policy Debate at this tournament.

Registration: All teams must register online at www.Speechwire.com.
 All contestants must be registered by 6:00 p.m. on Monday January 16, 2012 using Speechwire software.
 Your judges must be registered by Friday, January 20 at 12:00 p.m.

Awards:  Individuals: 1st through 6th place in all events. Awards ceremony will be open in the Gym. Sweepstakes will be computed on your best ten competitors overall.

Judges:  1 judge for every 5, or fraction of 5, IE events
  1 judge for 1 or 2 LD entries, 2 judges for 3 or 4 LD entries
         1 judges for every 6 congress entries
 
A DROP in registration does not permit a drop in JUDGES. Any school failing to bring the required number of judges will be fined $30.00 for each missing judge.

Fees:  $3.50 per student in IE and LD. $7.00 per Duo Team and Public Forum Team.

Schedule: 8:00 – 8:30 Registration in main hallway outside computer lab
 8:30 a.m. – General Assembly in the auditorium
 8:30 a.m. Extemp draw
 9:00 a.m. Round One
        10:00 a.m. Round Two
        11:00 a.m. Round Three
        12:00 p.m. Round Four

Lunch is available after 3 rounds in the high school cafeteria. Please do not bring food into the high school. You must purchase your food from the school cafeteria.

Extemp:  Prep room will be in the community room upstairs.

The middle school is within walking distance of the high school – one small road for bus access runs between the two school buildings.
