Berea's 8th Annual Grindstone Invitational

View manager contact information You and your students/judges are cordially invited to: The 8th Annual Grindstone Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament Where: Berea High School - 165 E. Bagley Rd., Berea, Ohio 44017
Date: Saturday, January 14, 2012 Live Registration: 8:00 AM till 8:30-45 AM. Assembly will begin as close to 9:00 AM as possible. All registration is at BHS. (Policy location will be made clear by the day of tournament. A shuttle bus will/should be available to transport debators and judges across the street to RMS. As of right now, debate competitors/judges will be released to RMS after registration; if this changes, you will be notified.) Cost: $3 per student ($6 per Duo/Policy/PF team). Checks may be payable to Berea High School (Memo: BHS Forensics or BHS Speech/Debate). Competition Details: IE, Congress (and possibly Policy) will take place at BHS, while LD and PF (and possibly Policy) will run across Bagley Rd. (and slightly east) at Roehm Middle School (same buildings as the past few years). IE will run 3 regular rounds and 1 (one) power round. Debate will run 4-5 straight rounds (time permitting, within reason). Congress will be slated for 4 straight sessions, at least 2 houses (January 2012 docket). Food will be available for judges and competitors at both buildings. We will do our best, but feel free to bring your own food (don’t expect storage space). From Bagley Rd., turn RIGHT into Berea High School. (This turn immediately follows the Eastland Rd. intersection.) From NORTH: Follow local routes, or. . . Find nearest connection to I-71 S, take Exit 235 (Bagley Rd. / Middleburg Hts.). Turn RIGHT (westbound). From Bagley Rd., turn RIGHT into Berea High School. (This turn immediately follows the Eastland Rd. intersection.) From SOUTH: Though you could access nearby communities via I-77 to I-80 (turnpike), it is best to find the nearest connection to I-71 N. Take Exit 235 (Bagley Rd. / Middleburg Hts.). Turn LEFT (it might be best to stay in middle turning lane on off-ramp). From Bagley Rd., turn RIGHT into Berea High School. (This turn immediately follows the Eastland Rd. intersection.) From ANY DIRECTION: IF YOU MISS THE TURN FROM BAGLEY RD . . . the very next intersection is Tressel/Maple (Tressel on left, Maple on right, it’s the same street divided by Bagley Rd.).
