This is a High School tournament in Minnesota.

FORMAT: Three rounds of speaking…with a final round.
RULES: The rules used will be those used in MSHSL Fine Arts Rules and Policies Manual. Extemporaneous reading and storytelling selections will be drawn from the complete 2018 lists, and discussion tasks will conform to the MSHSL schedule as listed in the published discussion outline (Details TBD).
TIMETABLE: Registration will take place in the main corridor (just inside the Jones Street entrance, door #3). Draws will begin at 8:45, followed by Round One at 9:15 for all events.
AWARDS: All speakers who break into the medal round will receive a "Finalist" ribbon. Medals will be presented to the three top speakers in each category; "Honorable Mention" ribbons, to other highly ranked speakers; plaques, to the three top teams.
JUDGES: Please furnish one qualified judge for each six entries (1:6) or fraction thereof. A very limited number of judges may be hired by schools making an early request, and a fee of $75 per judge will be assessed to the team needing coverage.  THE NUMBER OF JUDGES REGISTERED CANNOT BE DECREASED AFTER THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE. (Each duo interp pair should be counted as a single entry in calculating the number of judges required.)
ENTRY FEE: $6.00 per entry (payable to ISD 2154). 
DOUBLE ENTRY: Speakers may double enter in any category EXCEPT draw categories and discussion. 
DROP/ADD: We acknowledge the drop/add inevitability and urge you to make changes on Speechwire.com up until 8:00 AM Saturday morning, at which time Speechwire registration will be closed; if, however, you find yourself on the bus Saturday morning (10th) with further drop/adds, please contact us by cell phone (218-290-1587 or 218-780-1842) BEFORE 8:00 AM in order to leave a detailed TEXT message, including school, category, and name of speaker to drop or add.
THE FOOD THING: We've got it covered with a concessions table for speakers and homespun hospitality for visiting coaches and judges. 
DEADLINE: Registration via Speechwire.com must be received by 5:00 PM Friday, March 9th, 2018. This date also serves as the invoicing deadline for the tournament. Teams are obligated to pay for the number of speakers and judges registered at the time of this deadline, despite amendments to your roster later.
