 The coaches and students of Hastings College invite you and your students to the Hastings College/Hastings Alumni Tournament intended to honor of our alumni on Feb. 23 & 24, 2019. 

This tournament is an open invitational for all undergraduate competitors who meet the eligibility requirements of the AFA-NIET.  Additionally, we will be inviting Hastings College graduates from around the region to serve as judges and to host day two of our contest. 

Unless an event is very small, we will offer two preliminary rounds and finals in the eleven AFA events.  Finalists will be recognized with HC bags on day one and cups from our alumni association on day two.

A $5 fee per student per day will be included in your entry fee as food options around the campus are limited. We will be providing Big Dally’s Deli sandwiches and pizza for lunch.

We implement an open door policy so students are allowed to leave a room whenever they need. We will also have a mindfulness rooms for students, coaches, judges to use throughout the tournament.

Entries must be submitted before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, to Speechwire.com The address is www.speechwire.com Those coaches who have run or attended tournaments with last minute cancellations realize the trauma caused to the tournament director and the students.  Hoping to discourage this, changes made at the tournament or afternoon on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, will be assessed a $10 nuisance fee. Any changes to your entry please email kgrace@hastings.edu

Fees for the tournament are $6 per slot covered and an additional $12 per uncovered slot. One judge covers six slots. We request that you bring ample judges—our uncovered slot fee will be used to compensate the strong pool of alumni who are hired to adjudicate the tournament.
