Welcome to the Elkhorn South High School Speech Tournament!

The Elkhorn South Speech Team invites you to attend A Storm of Speeches Tournament to be held on Friday, March 1, 2019.   We will have two preliminary rounds and then finals. All events will have 3 judges and therefore 3 ballots for breaking into finals.

ENTRIES ARE DUE BY 8:00 p.m. ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 26

EVENTS and RULES

We will offer the following events: Informative, Persuasive (OO), Entertainment, Poetry, Humorous (HI), Serious (DI), Extemporaneous, Duet Acting/Duo Interp (12 minutes of either), OID, and Impromptu.

ENTRIES and FEES

Students may triple enter.  However, we will not hold a round if they are running late.  

Entry fee will be $8.00 per event.  

Any entry not “covered” by your judges will cost an additional $20.00 per entry.

**There will be NO refunds for drops after your entry has been received**

JUDGES

You must provide one qualified judge for every five (5) entries.  

Any entry not “covered” by your judges will cost an additional $20.00 per entry.  

Please try to cover as many judges as possible.  

ALL JUDGES MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR FINALS.

AWARDS

Ribbons will be awarded in preliminary rounds for first place.  Trophies will be awarded to the champion in each event with medals for 2nd–6th place.  There will also be a trophy for top novice in each individual event. Sweepstakes will be awarded to the top two teams.

CONCESSIONS

There will be a concession stand and a judges and coaches lounge provided all evening.

ASAP Awards

**We will send six students in all events to finals and if entries allow six to honors finals in all events EXCEPT OID, which will only have 4 teams in each.
