Day of registration will run between 8:00 am and 8:30 am. Last minute changess should be texted to (252) 622-9238 if they are known prior to arrival.

Resolutions:

Public Forum - Resolved: The United States should acede to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea without reservations.

Lincoln-Douglas Debate - Resolved: In the United States, reporters ought to have the right to protect the identity of confidential sourcesc.

Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate - Resolved Civil disobedience in a democracy is morally justified. 

 

Student Congress: Student Congeess legislation should remember the following information in regards to submission:

  • Congressional debate entries must be submitted no later than 5:00pm Wednesday, September 26th, 2018.
  • A school that enters competitors in the Congress division is required to submit at least one piece of appropriately formatted legislation.
  • Legislation is tied to the student and not the school. Thus, each competitor may submit one piece of legislation. No competitor may serve as the author of more than one piece of legislation. 
  • Legislation must be submitted to Michelle Boswell at dogwoodlegislation@gmail.com no later than 5:00pm Wednesday, September 26th, 2018.
  • Legislation will be posted no later than Monday, October 1, 2018.
  • In order to expedite the release of the legislation packet, the League has adopted templates. They can be found on the website.
