Dear Speech Coach,

Your team is cordially invited to the end of the year St. Cloud SpecTECHular Tournament on Saturday, March 24. It will be a time to fine tune and polish up before the post season gets in full swing. We will be offering all 13 MSHSL categories as well as Impromptu and Conversation. We will allow double and triple entering (one draw category only). We will offer 3 preliminary rounds of competition, Honor Finals & Finals in all categories.

If interested in attending, please indicate so as soon as possible. Please enter tentative numbers as well. If you have questions about the SpecTECHular tournament, please don't hesitate to send me an email.

We hope to see you there!

Format: Three rounds, finals, and honor finals. First round begins at 9:00 a.m. We will offer all 13 MSHSL categories and follow MSHSL rules. We have opted not offer POI since it is not a MSHSL category and the National Qualifying Tournament will already be done.

Entry Deadline: Please submit your initial entries by Monday, March 19, 2018. We will be site scheduling the tournament, so please feel free to make changes to your registration up through the morning of the tournament.

Entries: You may enter as many students as you would like in each event, including double or triple entires(one draw category only).

Fee: $7.00 per entry. Please makes checks payable to Tech High School Speech

Judges: Please bring one judge for every six (6) or fraction thereof. Uncovered judge slots will cost $100 each.

IMPROMPTU INFORMATION:  We will be doing impromptu differently than NSDA rules.  Students will draw prompts during prelim rounds.  Round 1 will be people, Round 2 will be a place AND a thing, and Round 3 will be a quotation.  Speakers will have 7 minutes TOTAL to prep and perform, an example would be prepping for 2 minutes and giving a 5 minute speech.  Finals for impromptu will be prior to awards and will be set up in a 'Who's Line is it Anyway' fashion.
