Happy January!
You and your speech & debate competitors are invited to participate at the fourth & final Eastern Ohio NSDA Big Questions Debates preliminary event at Canton McKinley HS next Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
Details:
TIMES: Registration will begin at 3:15 pm-ish at Canton McKinley HS. Round I will begin at 4:00 pm-ish. Our goal is to have 3 rounds of non-stressful competition and say "Good Night" by 8:30 pm or earlier!!!
FEES: There are NO fees! Yep, this is a FREE event! Bring as many kids as you want! Canton McKinley has plenty of rooms.
REGISTRATION: Use SpeechWire! There will be 2 divisions, JV & Varsity. Debaters may debate as singletons or as teams.
DRESS: This is gonna be a VERY relaxed event! Attire is school-appropriate casual. If your team rules demand “tournament attire,” that’s fine!
JUDGES: For the varsity division, we prefer Adult (high school graduate) judges. For the JV division, Adults OR student judges with 150 NSDA credit points may judge. Contact Nick if you have any questions.
HOSPITALITY: Competitors and student judges can expect pizza, chips, etc. Coaches and ADULT judges and bus drivers will be on Eastern Ohio NSDA’s tab. Competitors may gather in the cafeteria.
PARKING: Treat this like any other McKinley tournament! If there are any changes, Manny & I will let you know!
COMPETITION: Under “Files for Download,” we have uploaded ALL NSDA resources for Big Questions Debates. This event is NOT competition intense! Competitors can READ all material during the rounds. The emphasis is not on winning, but on DOING!
