Dear Speech and Debate Coaches:

You and your team are cordially invited to the annual Marquette High School Speech and Debate Tournament on February 16-17, 2018.

Events offered:

• Original Oratory

• Informative Speaking

• International Extemporaneous Speaking

• Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking

• Humorous Interpretation

• Dramatic Interpretation

• Duo Interpretation

• Radio Broadcasting

• Prose/Poetry

• Program Oral Interpretation

• Storytelling

• Congressional debate

Debates offered:

• Cross Examination (regular and champion divisions)

• Public Forum (regular and champion divisions)

• Lincoln-Douglas (regular and champion divisions)

We will be able to accept a maximum of three entries in each individual event and three entries in each debate division.  Extra entries will be placed on a waiting list and provided entry on a space available basis with priority given to those entries received earliest. Please provide your initial entry by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9th; at that time we will be providing entry to waiting list students.  Changes can be made to your entry after that time using Speechwire until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14th.  Trophies will be awarded to the top six finishers in each event.  Sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to the top three schools.

We will again offer the annual I Speak for Others Award for 2018.  This award will be given during the tournament ceremony and nominations are open for submission using the tab at the top of our tournament page.
