Celebrate with the Summit High Speech and Debate team at our annual 
Summit Hilltopper Holiday Classic 
 Saturday, March 10, 2017

We will be offering all of the 11 NJFL Speech Events: Dramatic, Humorous, Duo, Oral Interpretation, Program Oral Interpretation; Improvisational Acting, Impromptu Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, Original Oratory, Informative Speaking and Declamation.
We are also having NOVICE FINAL ROUNDS in all Speech events, excluding Declamation and Congress, if there are enough entries.
We will offer Congressional Debate, two divisions of Public Forum Debate and one open division of Lincoln-Douglas Debate.
Students may double enter in any of the speech events, but may not double enter if competing in student congress or debate. 
There will be three preliminary rounds and one final round in all eleven of the speech events.  The final round of EXTEMP will include cross-examination.
DEBATE will have four rounds with no final round.
In Public Forum, students will be debating the March resolution.
CONGRESS will have two sessions.  Please email all BILLS by Fri, March 2.  We will upload the bills to SpeechWire by Sun March 4.  
We will be offering Judge Training for any of your new judges during Round 1. The session will be led by experienced parent judges and SHS competitors who will review all of the judging expectations and criteria for writing a constructive ballot. Students will give brief demonstrations of  various events while new judges fill out sample ballots. Following the training session, new judges will be assigned to experienced judges to Shadow during Rounds 2 & 3.

Awards will be given to the six finalists in each event, and sweepstakes trophies to the top three schools.
The deadline for entry is Wed, March 7 at 5:00pm EST. Registration will be done online at www.SpeechWire.com. Adds and drops can be made without penalty on the website until Fri, March 9, at 5:00pm EST. A nuisance charge of $10 will be made to any drops made after this time. Adds at registration will incur a $5 nuisance charge. Dropped judges will incur a $125 penalty.  
Please present payment in the form of cash, check, or purchase order on the day of the tournament. 
Individual Speakers $10.00 per slot
Duo Teams and PF Teams $15.00  per team
Hired Judges: $85.00 per judge
Please make checks/purchase orders payable to: Summit High School.
One judge for every 5 speech contestants and/or one judge for every 3 PF debate teams. 
REGISTRATION will be open from 7:45-8:45 am.  PLEASE arrive on time so that we can begin Round One promptly at 9:30am.

Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be sold in the cafeteria.   Food will be provided to coaches and judges in the teacher's lounge adjacent to the student cafeteria.
