The Cambridge-Isanti Speech team coaches are pleased to invite you to the Cambridge-Isanti High School Bluejacket Speech Regatta.

Location:   Cambridge-Isanti High School, 430 NW 8th Ave., Cambridge, MN  55008

 

Categories: All 13 MSHSL categories. Discussion tasks will be based on Section I of the outline.

 

Format:     Three rounds and a final.

 

Awards: Team trophies for small and large schools based on final registration. Sailor duck for 4th place teams. Ship trophy for 1st place, Individual medals for 2nd, 3rd place. Pirate Rubber Ducky for 4th place. Ribbons for finalists, and honorable mention.

 

Registration:        8:00-8:30

Draws: 8:30 in the media center

Round 1: 9:00

Round 2: 10:15

Round 3: 11:30

Finals: 1:00

Awards: approximately 3:15 in the PAC

 

Cost: $6 per entry; duos count as one entry; no double entries are allowed; no limit in a category. (Make check payable to Cambridge-Isanti High School)

 

Judges: One judge per every 6 entries or portion thereof, regardless of subsequent drops. Please bring the number of judges you have registered even if your student entries lower at the last minute. Your judges will be scheduled, and we will be depending on them. Hired judges are available. Please indicate whether your judge is affiliated with your school (knows your students) or is unaffiliated. Unaffiliated judges will be pre-assigned finals in categories which you have students.

 

Food, etc.: A concession stand will be provided in the cafeteria. Preorder pizza when you arrive. We also have speech string backpacks for sale ($5) and speech lanyards ($3) as well as other fun to be had by all.
