Dear Coaches,

The coaches of Denver Public Schools will host a tournament on Saturday, February 04, 2017, at Denver School of the Arts, 7111 Montview Blvd., Denver, 80220 in conjunction with Johnson and Wales University.  If you can join us, please register via www.speechwire.com.

Registration will be from 7AM until 7:30AM. Judge check-in will be from 7:15AM until 7:45AM. We will attempt to pre-assign judges for the first round contingent on judge pre-registration.

We will use the NSDA topics for Public Forum, LD, and CX. Teams will need a coach on site all day in order to advance and coaches will be asked to judge two rounds and/or help with tab or judges’ table.

Entry Fees:

The cost will be $12 per debater, $10 per speech entry and $8 per congress entry.

Judges (Please read carefully)

Each school is responsible for providing qualified judges based on its entries. The judging commitment is:

3 rounds judged for every 1 to 6 IE entries.

3 rounds judged for every 1 to 4 LD entries.

3 rounds judged for every 1 to 4 PF entries.

3 rounds judged for every 1 to 2 CX entries.

IPreregistration deadline: Friday January 27th.

Double Entries: We allow double entering in non-debate events, but if a student is scheduled to compete in events that run simultaneously, they have the responsibility to inform judges of conflicts and attempt to adjust speaker order. The risk always exists that a round might be missed in this case. USX and IX are scheduled to encourage double entry in both types of extemp.
