L.I.F.E. IN 2017

LONG ISLAND FORENSICS EXTRAVAGANZA

AND SNAFU SWING

FEB. 25 - 25, 2017

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the 2017 LIFE Tournament and SNAFU Swing to be hosted by Nassau Community College! We are located on Long Island in beautiful Garden City, NY, just 35 minutes east of fabulous New York City! Many squads come in early (or stay an extra day) to enjoy the greatest city in the world! Each half will offer all 11 AFA-NIET events.  What follows is all the information you should need to plan your trip. We hope to see many of you in February!

Prof. Trent Webb, Director of Forensics

Nassau Community College

GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFO

1. Our tournament will prescribe to rules, ethical standards and event descriptions of the AFA-NIET.  There will be no CX in Extemp finals.

2. It is the student's responsibility to sign in and get to ALL rounds on time. Judges will be instructed not to wait past the allotted time for rounds in order to ensure an on-time tournament.

3.  Judges who fail to pick up ballots will render their students ineligible for elimination rounds.

4. Students must be entered in at least 4 events to be eligible for speaker awards.

5. Students are allowed to enter up to 3 events per pattern. Two duos count as two events.

6. Please consult the "Tournament Schedule" page for the schedule. NOTE: Our schedule may vary slightly from the SNAFU schedule on Sunday.

7. Awards will be given to all finalists. In addition, the top 3 schools and speakers will be awarded.

8. As the saying goes, we'd MUCH rather have your judges than your money!

9. Tournament logistics such as headquarters, directions, etc will be confirmed with your entry either via email or the IE-L.

10.  ALL entries are due by Wednesday, February 22nd at 3pm EST. ALL entries and changes should be via Speechwire up until Friday morning at 8:00am EST. After that, any drops should be immediately emailed to me OR text me at 917-747-0151.
