Hi follks,

We are very excited to host you this weekend. I wanted to send a few reminders as we prepare for this weekend:

1) Documents and forms- In the files portion of the registration page, you will find a waiver form. If you could please have your students complete the waiver form and have parents sign it. I know this can be a hassle and I have not sent a reminder about it before now but please DO YOUR BEST to get all students signatures.

2) Fees- We will accept payment for your fees BEFORE REGISTRATION at the following link ( https://commerce.cashnet.com/01DEB?itemcode=01DEB-000002 , AT REGISTRATION, or WHEN YOU ARRIVE. Since some of your teams will arrive after the registration time on Friday, you are okay to pay them. We will accept check, credit card, or cash.

3) Hiring judges- If you need to HIRE local judges to cover commitments, please feel free to email the following folks to hire folks for your commitment:

a. Steven Farias of University of the Pacific at sfarias@pacific.edu
b. Jeff Toney of San Joaquin Delta College at jeffatoney@gmail.com
c. Ryan Guy of Modesto Junior College at  guyr@yosemite.edu
d. Stephanie Eisenberg of Chabot College at seisenbergtodd@Chabotcollege.edu

Also, Blake Longfellow at blongfellow@dvc.edu runs an app called Hired Judges that may be able to help as well. If you would like me to put a call out to local colleges and universities, please let me know. If you do not mind judging fees, thats fine by me; but hiring local students will help your students and also improve the quality of the tournament.

4) Schedule and flighting- Due to room concerns and the need to keep the tournament on schedule, we will be flighting rounds as well. Rounds 1-3 of LD will be flighted and Public Forum Rounds will be flighted in the same room as Parli Rounds. We will do our best to minimize judge overlap to because your judge is covering your entry. On the same page, we appreciate you working with us to make sure that ballots are picked up and dropped off in a timely manner. If you have not discussed with your judges the compact schedule, please do so.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for helping to make the 38th Jon Schmaber Invitational be as excellent as it can be!
