NPDA Information

NPDA GOOGLE DOC FOR TOPICS AND ANNOUNCMENTS

Topic Areas: At this year’s NPDA tournament, there will be a topic area from which all potential resolutions will be crafted. A more detailed set of information will be provided NO LATER than two weeks prior to the tournament start. This year’s topic area shall be- Equity, Accountability, and Abolitionist Democracy in United States foreign and domestic policy.

Good evening folks, 

I hope you all have gotten into town and been able to settle in while getting ready for tomorrow's tournament. A few quick updates about Parli for everyone: 

1) Strikes- We tried our best to provide strikes but judges we believed we would have for today and tomorrow dropped from the tournament leading to an issue of too narrow a pool. We will try to make sure we use a diversity of judges for prelims but cannot offer strikes. If you have constraints, please make sure you enter them or email them to me at sfarias@pacific.edu

2) Round 1 & 2 Prep- As a reminder, we do back to back prep for round 1 @ 2 of parli. That means you will debate the same topic for rounds 1 & 2 and do all the prep for the rounds in 45 minutes allotted. After your first round, you may stay for minimal feedback but should proceed immediately to your second round for the same topic. 

3) Topic Area- Please remember that all our topics for parli are oriented around the following topic: Equity, Accountability, and Abolitionist Democracy in United States foreign and domestic policy.

4) Topic Announce, Google Doc and Roll Call- Topic announce will be in Anderson Regents (next door to the tab room). We will be posting prep rooms, updates throughout the tournament, and topics to the following google document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rEm0sjqMT08oyeM3kvO2xFU0jXGKDd_tzyRyrxTWaJg/edit?usp=sharing 

We will also do roll call before the round 1 & 2 topic announce and then from there will keep you updated for topic announce times if you choose not attend topic announce.
